Mark Johnson Joins Los Angeles Office of Snell & Wilmer

LOS ANGELES - March 26, 2015 - PRLog -- Snell & Wilmer is pleased to announce the expansion of its Los Angeles office with the addition of Mark Johnson (http://www.swlaw.com/attorneys/mark_johnson) as a partner in the firm’s natural resources and construction litigation groups. Johnson is the fifth partner to join the Los Angeles office in recent months and comes to Snell & Wilmer from Alston & Bird, LLP.

Johnson has served as lead counsel in over 20 jury trials, bench trials and arbitrations involving a variety of construction, energy, environmental, land use, real estate and toxic tort matters. His environmental litigation experience includes CERCLA, CEQA, RCRA, California Coastal Act and Proposition 65; air quality regulations; hazardous substance contamination and products liability claims. Johnson’s energy litigation experience includes construction of power plants; oil and gas leases and loyalties and renewable energy credit disputes. His construction litigation experience includes bid protests, the California False Claims Act, changed condition claims, contractor licensing laws, defective work claims, delay claims, extra work claims, loss of work claims, mechanic’s lien and stop notice claims, OSHPD regulations and requirements, product liability claims, professional liability of engineers and surety bond claims.

Johnson earned his B.S. in petroleum engineering from University of Southern California and his J.D. from Loyola Law School. Prior to becoming a lawyer, he worked as an Engineer for the California Division of Oil and Gas and Geothermal Resources where he was in charge of enforcing and regulating onshore and offshore oil, gas and geothermal drilling and production operations. He joined Manatt, Phelps and Phillips, LLP out of law school, and joined the partnership there before leaving in 2012 for Alston & Bird LLP.
