The Holistic Health & Wellness Education Program brings wellness education to residents for free

ARVADA, Colo. - March 26, 2015 - PRLog -- The Holistic Health & Wellness Education Program (HHWEP), created by Jennifer Lawson in 2013, has been leading community-based wellness education classes in Senior Living Communities since February 2014. Participants have gained a great deal of knowledge and experience in self-care and alternative therapy practices. The residents really appreciate the free service provided by HHWEP and are always so happy to see Jennifer in their community.

This program was created after Jennifer saw the dire need for preventive health measures in the senior population. Frequently, residents of assisted and independent living communities have limited income and need low or no-cost support.  In order to help prevent or reduce health disparities between high and low-income seniors, Jennifer developed this easy to use program and handouts after months of research and information gathering. Her booklet, included with class participation, is compiled of extensive information on practices from around the world, and is printed in large font and in layman’s terms. It also describes ways to apply the information for personal improvement.  In addition, the classes also provide demonstrations of gentle exercise and stress relief practices.

As part of their health and wellness program, Eaton Senior Community has opened their doors to the public so neighborhood residents can benefit from their classes. Eaton receives grant funding for their Wellness Director who establishes and maintains partnerships with HHWEP and other community partners providing low or no-cost services to their residents.
