ELK GROVE, Calif. - March 27, 2015 - PRLog -- China is facing an up hill battle when it comes to leading the world as an economic powerhouse. With concerns about overcapacity, weak housing, and less global global demand China is facing a "new normal" according to Beijing.

These and other issues were covered in a MarketWatch article on January 20th. Because of a higher than expected fourth quarter the yearly growth was 7.4% just under the target of 7.5%. This economic growth of 7.4% is the slowest seen since 1990 when the annual growth was 3.8%.

These two numbers might seem worlds apart but they give backing to those who express concerns over the ability to keep China growing and some of the questionable figures and actions that have led up to these high growth percentages.

"Given that, the absence of more vigorous growth has raised questions whether Beijing will need to take more aggressive actions in 2015 to maintain an adequate expansion to provide enough jobs".

There are bright spots in the Beijing numbers with retail sales numbers shinning brightly. Retail sales increases put policy makers on solid ground as they state that the Chinese economy is weening itself off government spending.

With headlines like this it can cause us to feel insecure about our investment accounts and if they would be able to withstand this and other headlines that could drop global markets. If you would like to have your portfolio "stress tested" for this and other risks reach out and we can show you an idea of what you can expect in the next 2008.
