EL SEGUNDO, Calif. - March 25, 2015 - PRLog -- Wizard World, Inc. (OTCBB: WIZD) today announced that Alex Wer, an award-winning artist known as “The Pumpkin Geek” for his unique pumpkin carvings, has been selected to administer Artist Alley initiatives at its Wizard World Comic Con pop culture conventions. Wer, who has recently done projects for ESPN, Netflix, Legendary Entertainment and People and won a Geekie Award for Best Art/Craft, will assist the many talented comics creators who regularly appear at Wizard World shows, as well as recruit undiscovered artists and writers to future shows.

Wer, whose fascination with carving pumpkins at Halloween and single logo carving for his wife for an Open House in 2009 led to dozens of orders, began to gain a loyal following as he attended several conventions. It was in Portland, Ore., that he connected with the Wizard World team, which led to work in national sales and now this appointment.

“It’s a privilege to work for such an amazing company that is bringing conventions to the entire country,” said Wer. “I’m looking forward to finding talented artists that will benefit from an incredible experience when they join a Wizard World show.”

The 2015 Wizard World schedule currently features 26 events, with Las Vegas the next stop on the tour, April 24-26. Creators interested in connecting with Wer can reach him via email at alex@wizardworld.com.

Some of the popular comics creators who appear at many Wizard World Comic Con include Neal Adams (“Batman,” “X-Men”), Michael Golden (“Spider-Man,” “Daredevil”), Mike Zeck (“Spider-Man,” “Punisher”), Phil Ortiz (“The Simpsons,” “Muppet Babies”), Chris Claremont (“Uncanny X-Men,” “The Avengers”), Tyler Kirkham (“Action Comics,” “Superboy”), Ethan Van Sciver (“Green Lantern,” “Flash”), Greg Horn (“Guardians of the Galaxy,” “The Avengers”), Arthur Suydam (“Marvel Zombies,” “Army of Darkness”), Ken Kelly (“He-Man,” “Star Wars”) and many others.
