VALRICO, Fla. - March 25, 2015 - PRLog -- This one day event will feature a great day of golf at the beautiful Bardmoor Golf and Tennis Club in Pinellas County. The event will include a 4-person scramble, box lunch and awards presentation, great prizes as well as dinner following the golf tournament.

The goal of this event is to bring attention to, and support for, the initiatives put forward by the Brandon, FL based 1Voice Foundation.

THE CAUSE- Providing families with vital information and resources about various forms of childhood cancer, treatment facilities, and options.
THE CARE- Providing families with support and assistance, both emotionally and financially, during their battle against childhood cancer.
THE CURE- Funding research that will lead to treatments that are less toxic to children, and increase survival rates

The 1Voice Foundation recognizes key areas that need to come together under one organization, in order to make a dramatic impact on childhood cancer, both nationally and world-wide.

About WHAT THE BUC REALLY MATTERS:

By now you know us and our play on words, hence the name of our volunteer group. We wanted fans to know that there was more going on within the Buccaneers’ organization than football games, draft parties and players’ autographs. Our franchise is rich with players, past and present who are deeply involved in charities. Charities require “hands” and no matter your economic situation you can help. We always knew people wanted to do more if they just knew how, so like everything else we have done with WTB?, we jumped right in. With the help of social media we were able to answer the cries for help. We got involved by asking questions and by showing up. Early on, maybe a handful of people would volunteer, I am proud to share with you that we just registered 60 sets of hands for an upcoming holiday event where we will help feed over 1000 people.

We have sent goodies to the troops overseas, packaged food for Africa, lent our voice to pediatric cancer, helped with the battle against domestic violence, raised money for the American Heart Association, grown beards for Movember, worn pink bras in October and provided toys for little ones during some scary times. There is magic and comfort in numbers, come have some fun with us while we help some less fortunate than us.

About 1VOICE FOUNDATION:
Founded in 2008, the 1Voice Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non profit children’s charity, focuses on bringing all resources together for pediatric cancer families in the Tampa Bay area, under the roof of one foundation, the cause, the care and the cure. The mission of the 1Voice Foundation is to provide educational, psychosocial and financial resources through our family support programs while funding pediatric cancer research at our pediatric cancer research lab at the College of Medicine at the University of South Florida. In addition, we represent Florida pediatric cancer families statewide with our legislative efforts on Capitol Hill annually and we are launching the initiative to open the first school in the United States for children battling cancer. We work directly with the medical and psychosocial staff at: All Children’s Hospital and outpatient clinic, Children’s Medical Services, Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute, Shriner’s Hospital for Children Tampa, St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital, Tampa General Hospital and the University of South Florida Medical Clinics.

We have two full time employees, Dr. Nair, Research Assistant and Mary Ann Massolio, Executive Director, who has served as a pediatric oncology social worker in Tampa for nearly 25 years. Three years after entering the field, she became an oncology mother herself; when her youngest child, Jay, was diagnosed with 4th stage non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma at the age of 9. Jay lost his battle six short months later and Mary Ann has continued her fight personally and professionally to make a difference in programs and services for our families. We depend heavily on our volunteer Board of Director’s and community volunteers, who work hard every day and allow us to keep administrative expenses minimal. We raise all our funds through special events, fundraisers, philanthropic generosity and grants.

About BARDMOOR GOLF AND TENNIS CLUB:
Florida golf doesn't get any better than Bardmoor. Broad, generous fairways that invite you to hit away; glistening water features that add some sparkle to your round; and, of course, abundant sunshine. Arnold Palmer, Payne Stewart, Fred Couples, and Tom Kite have played here.

These tour members competed here annually in PGA/LPGA JCPenney Classic. Our course was a good test for the stars, and after the 2003 renovation by Gary Koch, it's better than ever, even if you don't quite match up to the likes of the big names in the game.

You'll find our overall conditions are consistently excellent. We have Tif-Eagle greens that rival tour status. State-of-the-art practice facilities, an award-winning golf shop, and outstanding service complete your experience. Located minutes from some of the best beaches in Florida, Bardmoor is consistently rated as one of Florida's premier golf courses.
