Disney The Little Mermaid musical to open in Branson Missouri

BRANSON, Mo. - March 25, 2015 - PRLog -- Broadway of Branson, a subsidiary of Country Club Entertainment and The White House Theatre, are proud to announce the theatrical ensemble of Disney's "The Little Mermaid" will be running during the summer of 2015 in Branson, Missouri, under the direction of acclaimed director Michael Crum.

“I was talking to my wife last year about Branson needing something, you know, needing a name, and there is no bigger name in the world than Walt Disney” said Broadway of Branson President Justin Tranchita. “We needed something that would benefit Branson, make good financial sense and put Branson back on the map.”

“Walt Disney always said ‘If you can dream it you can do it,’ and after many years of dreaming I can say that the magic of Walt Disney is finally coming to Branson.”

The show will be directed by Crum, a consummate professional with more than 30 years of experience in most every aspect of show development and production across the country. Crum has brought more than 200 musical theatre and dramatic productions to life as an actor, director, designer and educator.

The Kennett, Missouri native is also no stranger to advancing the entertainment scene in Branson.
In 2002, Crum was instrumental in bringing the award-winning "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" to Branson, serving as designer and director.
In addition, Crum was key member of the original production and design team responsible for the debut shows at Dick Clark’s American Bandstand Theater.

As a sanctioned director and producer by Music Theatre International of New York and Disney, Crum said he is excited and honored to be working for Broadway of Branson/Country Club Entertainment and once again be a part of the changing entertainment scene in Branson.

The show's producers selected the White House Theatre as the perfect venue due to its amazing technological staging and a $1 million LED full stage monitor, which will display HD video and scenery across the 30-foot tall by sixty-foot wide screen.

The White House Theatre submerges our guest in the underwater kingdom of King Tritan through the use of amazing 3D stage pieces and video technology utilizing the full stage LED monitor. Guests will feel as if they are on the ocean floor, surrounded by fish and coral reefs as they experience Disney's "The Little Mermaid."

In hosting this production, the White House Theatre continues a commitment to excellence with a beautiful state of the art theatre, spacious lobby, the West Wing Conference Center it truly has something for everyone.

Disney's "The Little Mermaid" is an enchanting musical about the adventures of the mermaid princess Ariel. She finds herself trapped between her life beneath the sea and a new found love of Prince Eric and the world above. Ursula, the evil sea queen, and her minions seek to destroy Ariel and dash her hopes of living on land. Along with her mischievous friends Sebastian, Flounder and Scuttle she sets out to find her place in this epic coming of age story.
