Cheshire Builder Ailis Gives Her Hard-Hat a Holiday

NANTWICH, U.K. - March 24, 2015 - PRLog -- Builder Ailis Hadfield has given her hard-hat a well-earned rest to concentrate on a new role, communicating with clients to ensure they make the most of their investments in new builds or repairs and refurbishments of existing properties.

The director of award-winning Cheshire-based A.J.Field Developments Ltd, who graduated in Construction Management at the University of the West of England in Bristol before going on to a successful career in Civil Engineeringand Construction, now works closely with clients as their expert personal adviser.

“When a client approaches us to build a property or refurbish an existing one they are asked to make a variety of choices and decisions as the project moves forward,” said Ailis, a mum of two who is married to A.J. Fields MD Jim Hadfield. “Some of those decisions can be crucial and will have a financial impact on the project.

“However, most clients have a very limited knowledge of the building industry.  When asked to make a choice about any aspect of building project, the client will nearly always go for the less expensive option. However, in some cases a slightly more expensive choice at one stage may provide valuable savings in the long runfor example investing in solar panels or a more efficient boiler.

“That’s where I come in. I spend significant time with the client to explain how the project will roll-out and highlight the stages where they will be able to make choices and decisions that will impact costs. I will explain the options, the potential long term costs or savings and leave the client to make the final decision.

“By working like this we are making our expertise available to the client; however the final decision will always be for the customer alone to make which is a policy that seems to be appreciated. My role is to keep the client as informed as possible so they have all the information they require to make a decision.”
