Brooklyn Wrongful Arrest Attorney Files Action on Behalf of Fatima K

NEW YORK - March 23, 2015 - PRLog -- Attorney Michael Redenburg has filed a wrongful arrest complaint in Brooklyn Federal Court on behalf of Fatima K. who currently resides in the Gowanus Houses, Brooklyn, NY. The incident complained of within the false arrest lawsuit occurred on March 12, 2015 and the filing number is 15-cv-1490. A jury trial has been demanded.

Allegations Within the Complaint

Fatima had called for police assistance because her girlfriend refused to leave her apartment. When the NYPD officers arrived on the scene, she was just outside of her apartment and she was asked to step to the side so the officers could speak to her. One of the officers then started cursing at Fatima and she explained to them that there was no need to speak to her in such an unprofessional manner.

Next, another NYPD officer grabbed her left arm and tried to throw her to the ground. Still another NYPD officer tackled her from behind and she fell to the floor. Fatima was then handcuffed while on the ground and transported to the 76^th precinct where she spent about 3 ¼ hours being fingerprinted, photographed and processed. Thereafter, she was transported to Brooklyn’s Central Booking where she spent approximately twenty eight (28) hours before appearing before a judge.

At her criminal court arraignment, Fatima learned for the first time that she had been criminally charged with two counts of resisting arrest, one count of obstructing governmental administration in the second degree and one count of disorderly conduct. At arraignment, the matter was adjourned in contemplation of dismissal (ACD).
