Education Leaders Ken Spero and Kathy Walter Appear on the GingerNewYork TV Show

Ken Spero: is CEO of Ed Leadership SIMs, LLC, a new venture established in partnership with the Graduate School of Education of the University of Pennsylvania (Penn GSE). ELS’ core objective is to use the concepts of Experience Design to build knowledge, skills, and decision-making capacity in large numbers of educational leaders through the use of computer based simulation. In his role, Ken continues his work in Experience Design to help leaders shift the focus from ‘what’ they think to ‘how’ they think, utilizing a Systems Thinking and Judgment/Consequence approach to improve strategic thinking, decision making and performance. http://www.edleadershipsims.com

Nsoma: is  a company dedicated to solving the challenges of education at the intersection of programming and technology, which is a confusing arena.  In Uganda, the Lugandan language is spoken as it is written.  "Nsoma" is one word that is a full sentence, meaning  "I read."  It is simple and direct, but also a full thought.  The solutions to complex problems must also be simple or they will not really be solutions.

This is Nsoma's mission:  to find the solutions that link technologies, reducing the complexity faced by schools and universities.

Kathy Walter, CEO
Kathy has a decade of experience managing IT projects, first as a COBOL programmer in the Utilities industry, then as an IT Project Manager in a variety of website consulting firms and the financial services industry. She also worked for nearly a decade in product management and development as a Technical Product Manager at Instinet Corporation, Associate Brand Manager at Gillette and Proctor & Gamble, and as a Senior Product Manager for Iron Mountain, before branching into Education.

Ms. Walter has a BA in Applied Math from Union College, an MBA From NYU’s Stern School of Business, and a Graduate Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL). Kathy has been an ESL Educator at Northeastern University and Cambridge Learning Center; an ESL curriculum consultant with the YearUp program in Boston; and a program developer for several teaching projects in Uganda. http://www.nsoma.com/
