March 20, 2015 - PRLog -- To show support for the local arts, PODS® of Houston (http://www.pods.com/houston.aspx), a moving (http://www.pods.com/Moving.aspx) and storage (http://www.pods.com/Storage.aspx) company, will inspire a unique, portable art concept to the students of The Oak Ridge High School who have been selected as the only student collaboration to display a one-of-a-kind art project at the nationally acclaimed The (http://www.woodlandswaterwayartscouncil.org/) Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival (WWAF), presented by The Woodlands Waterway Arts Council (WWAC) from April 10-12, 2015.

The students, led by Because Art Matters Master Artist, Sonya Hillman, local sculptor and WWAC board member, drafted unique art concepts for mural designs that will be placed outside the donated PODS containers to use as a muse for their exhibit.

"PODS of Houston has provided our students with a different kind of canvas for the last three years and it is always exciting to see how the surface of the PODS Container motivates their creativity,” said Festival Director Jenny Wright. “I love having a partnership like this where it is a win-win for the students, the sponsors and the Festival patrons!"

Festival patrons will have a chance to become part of the painting mural, “Future Artists of the Waterway PODS Container,” by posing for a fun, and unique photo opportunity with the art.  The high school artists have designed the mural so participants look like they are part of the scene and can post their interactive “super selfies” on social media with #WWArtFest.

“We’re proud to have the opportunity yet again to be a part of WWAF this year,” states, Tim Preston, Vice President and General Manager of PODS of Houston. “The students have done such an amazing job on the designs for the murals outside of the PODS container and I think they offer the perfect muse for the students to transport event-goers to other extraordinary worlds.”

The WWAF weekend is a celebration of visual, culinary and performance art along the beautiful Woodlands Waterway, and gives patrons a rare and special opportunity to meet with local artists, art enthusiasts and tourists from across the nation. This is the third year PODS of Houston has donated a PODS container for creative purposes for WWAF. Last year The Woodlands College Park High School National Art Honor Society received the rare opportunity as the only school collaboration to transform the PODS container into an art piece.
