MALIBU, Calif. - March 20, 2015 - PRLog -- March is National Reading Month so it is only fitting to have Shanalee Sharboneau, an author and an advocate for children's literacy featured on “Moving America Forward”. Shanalee the author of the newly released children’s book “My Mama Loves Me I’m Her Little Boy”, was interviewed at the Los Angeles Moving America Forward News Studio by William Shatner and Doug Llewellyn of “People’s Court” fame.

Shanalee spent most of her life in Texas. With Irish immigrant grandparents she grew up hearing tales of Vikings, castles, leprechauns and banshees. When Shanalee’s son Braydon was born in 2010, he had severe reflex. She and her husband, Perry, spent the first six months with their son on a 24/7 vigilant watch to make sure his condition did not take him back to heaven. Shanalee spent countless hours rocking her son day and night humming nursing tunes to calm him. None of them worked, until she began to hum a melody which later formed words. These words turned into lyrics, lyrics turned into verses, and the verses became the beautiful lullaby she sang to her newborn son entitled, My Mama Loves Me. After Braydon’s reflux went away, Shanalee wrote down all the melodies to the lullaby so she would not forget the loving song she once sang to her infant son, over and over again, to calm him in his time of need. This became the book, My Mama Loves Me, the first in her children’s series, My Family Loves Me.

Since the release of “My Mama Loves Me: I’m Her Little Boy” at the beginning of March, 2015, there has been an enormous positive response. Lavishly illustrated with brilliantly detailed illustrations this book is an inviting, visually engrossing portrayal of a mother’s love for her child. The added details in the colorful illustrations perfectly complement the sentiment of the book. The book was published by Mascot Books and can be found at Barnes and Noble, Books-A-Million and Amazon.com.  Since its release, the book is being sold internationally in Ireland, France, Japan, Germany, Australia, Finland, Italy, Spain, Denmark and the UK.

Ruth Collins the Senior Producer of Moving America Forward stated “The team chose Shanalee to appear on the show because she just stood out from all the submissions from other authors. Ms. Collins added “When parents understand that talking, playing, singing and reading aloud are not enhancements, but are instead requirements, for their child’s development, we will see huge leaps in children’s readiness for school and life”.

Shanalee Sharboneau was selected to receive the prestigious "Moving America Forward" Award by Retired Rear Admiral Kevin F. Delaney. This award is given to innovative entrepreneurs that have distinguished themselves in their industry and, as a result, are "Moving America Forward".  The episode will air on Biz TV on Sunday May 10, 2015 at 11:00 am EDT.
