DAYTON, Ohio - March 20, 2015 - PRLog -- 7-Year Old Springboro Student Earns Title, Princess of Ohio for 2015

SPRINGBORO, OHIO – March 20, 2015 – The Miss Ohio United States 2015 pageant was held the weekend of March 6th – 7th at the Anderson Center Theater in Cincinnati, Ohio.   Olivia Lorenz, a 2nd grade student at Dennis Elementary in Springboro, Ohio, won the title ‘Princess of Ohio 2015’, Presented by AMC Events.  Director of AMC Events, Angela Caliguri, said Olivia, “exhibited attributes which embody our cause.  We are very proud to have Olivia represent AMC Events for 2015!”

During Princess weekend Olivia competed in several categories, including runway, personal introduction, photogenic, people’s choice, achievement, interview, fashionista, evening gown, and personality/on-stage questioning. For her on-stage question Olivia was asked “Do you think family is important to you and why?” Olivia replied with a wonderful answer about how family is always there to love, encourage, and support you. She concluded her response with, “When you are sad they [family] cheer you up. Family is just a really good part of your life.”

Olivia’s platform is “Don’t Be Afraid to Sparkle”, which encourages girls to embrace their inner beauty and celebrate kindness to others.  By selling sparkly headbands and rainbow loom bracelets that she creates, Olivia also raises money to purchase Rainbow Loom kits, loom hooks, and a large supply of rubber bands for the entertainment and activity carts used by the kids staying at Dayton Children’s Hospital.

Even at 7-years old, Olivia strongly recognizes the need for volunteerism and community involvement.  She has participated in a wide variety of events for Dayton Children’s Hospital, including Sugarplum Festival of Trees and the Heart-In-Hand Luncheon, hosted by the Dayton Children’s Hospital Auxiliary group, TWIG24.

Olivia is incredibly excited about all the opportunities she will have as Princess of Ohio 2015.  When asked what she looks forward to the most during her year, Olivia says “Raising money to buy Rainbow Loom kits for the kids at the hospital and talking to girls my age about all the fun things they can do in their towns.”

AMC Events has a strong commitment to the community and promotes platforms of service for young girls and provides them with opportunities to gain involvement within their communities. Princess state title holders are encouraged to better themselves, network, make a difference, and achieve greatness on a local and state-wide basis.
