NASHVILLE, Tenn. - March 19, 2015 - PRLog -- Inspirational speaker and author, Rev. Cynthia Andrews-Looper, (Pastor Cindy) has recently been working with GracePointe Church in Nashville, TN to support its move to include the LGBTQ community. The work GracePointe has been doing has been ground-breaking and has been seen by many within the evangelical community as the start of a great change.

Pastor Cindy has many years of experience within the conservative and evangelical Christian world. She grew up in fundamentalist Christianity and attended Bob Jones University for two years. Both of her academic degrees are from Southern Wesleyan University, an evangelical university associated with The Wesleyan Church. In addition, she founded and pastored for 18 years at Holy Trinity Community Church, an LGBTQ inclusive church with a strong evangelical theology and worship. Having grown up within the conservative and evangelical communities, she has always been a key supporter of inclusion with regard to the LGBTQ community within the fabric of the evangelical world. She is currently in the process of writing a manual for evangelical churches that wish to become inclusive. She states, “There is a movement happening on the forefront ever so slowly of the evangelical community concerning LGBTQ inclusion. Pastors and churches all across the US are watching GracePointe closely to see what happens. They recognize that this will eventually be the journey to which they are called. I believe an overview and manual of suggested steps will help pastors and congregations navigate the path to inclusion with grace and hope. It is an exciting time, but many are fearful. I want to take the fear away and help pastors and congregations see the heart of the gospel in this process.”

Pastor Cindy is also sharing her own experience of reconciling her faith and orientation, as well as her expertise of LGBTQ and the evangelical faith through a series of talks and lectures across the U.S. She will be in Atlanta, GA in the coming months sharing her thoughts with other inclusive evangelicals and is open to interviews and lecture offers.
