BOUDOIR takes Hollywood Reel Independent Film Festival by storm winning a People’s Choice Award

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. - March 18, 2015 - PRLog -- BOUDOIR, a Without Chemicals production, a psychological horror short directed by writer/director Gina Lee Ronhovde, won the People’s Choice Award for Best Short Film from a discerning audience at the Hollywood Reel Independent Film(HRIFF) 2015 where Boudoir premiered to a standing-room-only crowd.  BOUDOIR also won Best Dramatic Short Film and Best Cinematography, winning a total of three awards.

This premier Indie Film Festival highlights the works of emerging talented artists who possess an independent vision and create innovative work outside the studio system.  THE HOLLYWOOD REEL INDEPENDENT FILM FESTIVAL (HRIFF) was started to help support and promote independent cinema in Los Angeles, encouraging filmmakers with unique or non-mainstream visions to create films.

Gina Lee Ronhovde is a dynamic filmmaker with a background in writing and film history who focuses on story first. Her current screenplay Family Reunion is gaining critical acclaim.  Family Reunion is a Meet the Royal Tennebaums / Meet the Parents unique tale of a family set in rural Minnesota where four estranged siblings and their families reunite for a dysfunctional family reunion during their hometown celebration of “Tingvold Days”

BOUDOIR (short film), (2015 HRIFF People’s Choice Award Winner) is a psychological horror short starring Dominique Swain (LOLITA, FACE/OFF, ALPHA DOG) and Deneen Melody (THE PLAYBOY CLUB, ROSE WHITE). Directed and written by Gina Lee Ronhovde. Cinematography by Will Barratt (FROZEN, HATCHET I&II), edited by Ed Marx (SWIMMING WITH SHARKS, JEEPERS CREEPERS) with sound & music by John Neff (THE STRAIGHT STORY, MULHOLLAND DRIVE).  Synopsis: A mysterious client psychologically tortures an agoraphobic photographer during a routine boudoir photography session, escalating into a battle to stay alive.

Gina Lee Ronhovde is an up and coming director, producer, writer in the independent filmmaker world who is becoming a leader in content creation and someone to watch. Keep a look out for her new webisode series “Lynch Locations: The Other Side of the Fence” which launches on April 8, 2015.
