Therapy Dog Makes 150th Therapy Dog Visit

ALBANY, N.Y. - March 23, 2015 - PRLog -- What:

Eagle, a golden retriever therapy dog, will make his 150th therapy dog visit at the Hudson Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center on March 25, 2015 at 10:30 AM. Eagle has made weekly therapy dog visits to the nursing home since December 2013.

Therapy dogs provide affection and comfort to individuals at schools, libraries, nursing homes and hospitals. Dogs must pass a certification test that demonstrates their ability to walk on a loose leash, leave items both on the floor and when offered by a person and be comfortable around medical equipment. Dogs over one year of age may take the certification test. Eagle certified one week after his first birthday.

Eagle is owned by Diane Blackman, CPDT-KA, owner of All Dawgs Training Services in Albany, New York. Diane is an evaluator for Therapy Dogs International and also owns two other therapy golden retreivers.
