HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. - March 17, 2015 - PRLog -- U.S. Pest has officially become the title sponsor of the 2015 Holidayfest of Sumner County.  Events for Holidayfest will be held from Oct. 17th through Monday, January 1st.  Holidayfest of Sumner County is presented by the many local civic, community and town organizations that sponsor and give to the various charities who benefit from the various events.

Holidayfest of Sumner County is a nonprofit organization and is celebrating its 9th year. Traditionally, the Mayor does a proclamation at the end of October and Holidayfest begins.  The weekend of Thanksgiving is the Holidayfest Indian Lake Loop, the annual tree-lighting at Memorial Park and a Mrs. Santa Pancake breakfast.  At the tree-lighting there will be live music and vendors as well as Santa and his friends from the North Pole. The Mayor of Hendersonville will do the countdown and the King and Queen of Holidayfest will be on hand to help with the festivities.

This year there are 17 events during the three month period, and they are held throughout town. Town food banks are depleted this year, and there is a great need to help replenish the empty shelves. Therefore, the Holidayfest Board is asking the public to help out their neighbors in need and donate to the Sumner County food bank by buying a Holidayfest button for $2 and everyone is asked to bring a non-perishable food item to each event or drop them off at Holidayfest events and at some of our sponsors locations.  One such location is US Pest Protection, 49 Industrial Park Drive, Hendersonville, TN. 37075. The phone number is 615.822.8500

This year's Holidayfest events cater to all ages, young and old. Many of the events are free to the public and each paying event is hosted by a Charity and all the money benefits their organizations.

This year, an “Oktoberfest Casino Night”  hosted by the Gents and Ladies Committee of Holidayfest is on Oct. 17th and will be the Kick Off event for all the Holidayfest events.

Garlands & Glitter Fashion Show on November 6th will set the tone for the season and is always a sold out event showcasing local dignitaries and celebrities.

Thanksgiving day, the Indian Lake Loop is for the entire family and you can put the turkey on, join the 5k walk and run and be home to enjoy your feast.

The Annual Tree-Lighting at the Memorial Park is the Sunday after Thanksgiving and it will begin at 4pm and include food vendors, bouncey’s for the kids, Carriage rides and live entertainment by celebrities and the Mayor does the final countdown at 6:30pm.

Events the following weeks include  Breakfast with Santa at Bluegrass Country Club, Christmas4Kids Buses and Shopping, and Actors Point “It’s a Wonderful Life”

So come and join us for all Holidayfest Celebrations to kick off the holiday season in Sumner County.   Remember to bring non-perishable food items to the events and purchase Holidayfest buttons to help make the season joyous for our neighbors in need.

Brochures will be available at locations around town. Holidayfest buttons will be available at the events and City Hall on Oct. 1st.
