28 Spas Receive National Distinction as Leading Spas of Canada

The Spa Industry Association of Canada (SIAC) is pleased to announce that 28 spas have achieved Quality Assurance Approved status in the Canadian spa industry in 2014.

March 16, 2015 - PRLog -- The Spa Industry Association of Canada (SIAC) is pleased to announce that 28 spas have achieved Quality Assurance Approved status in the Canadian spa industry in 2014.

The Quality Assurance program (http://www.leadingspasofcanada.com/quality-assurance/approved-spas/) is the only national program of its kind in Canada, recognizing spas that pass an extensive inspection process evaluating safety, hygiene and best business practices. Spas achieving Quality Assurance Approved (QAA) status are granted this distinction for a period of two years before mandatory re-inspection.

In Alberta, eight spas achieved Quality Assurance Approved status; British Columbia and Ontario have six spas each. In Manitoba, five spas were successful at achieving approval, followed by Saskatchewan with three and Quebec with one. “We are thrilled to have 28 spas achieve this distinction in 2014,” says Lori Robertson, Executive Director of Leading Spas of Canada/Spa Industry Association of Canada (http://www.spaindustry.ca/about). “Since the program’s inception in 2010, an increasing number of spas have committed each year to this comprehensive assessment. It’s a rigorous process, requiring a huge commitment from the participating spas.”

This national Quality Assurance program is available to all spas In Canada, providing the same consistent evaluation across all spa categories and sizes. To maintain the integrity of the evaluations, assessments are conducted by specially trained, third-party inspectors with significant experience and expertise in health and safety inspections.

“Achieving Quality Assurance Approved status and the right to display the QAA logo provides the public with the comfort and confidence that the spa they have chosen exceeds professional industry standards. Consumers have the assurance they are in great hands, allowing them to relax and enjoy a wonderful spa journey,” notes Maria Micu, LSC/SIAC Treasurer and board liaison for the LSC Standards and Practices Committee.
