The star packed raffle and tombola was supported by Shackletons with a star prize, a one-off patchwork Shackletons high seat chair, which helped to raise eight hundred pounds in raffle ticket sales alone, with the total amount raised, a whopping thousand pounds. Gail Thwaite, General Manager at AlleyC ‘Zam says: “I’d just like to thank Shackletons for their help and kindness. We raised so much more than we thought we would, this donation will have a hugely positive impact on those who receive help and support from Dementia UK.” Dementia UK is a national charity, committed to improving quality of life for all people affected by dementia. The provision of Admiral Nurses Dementia UK provides Admiral Nurses - specialist dementia nurses who give expert, practical and emotional care and support for family carers, as well as the person with dementia. Admiral Nurses provide families with an understanding of dementia and give them the tools and skills to deal with challenges effectively, whilst also providing psychological support to help family carers to carry on caring for their family member.
