Anna Barón, PhD Joins MedAware Systems’ Scientific Advisory Board

BROOMFIELD, Colo. - March 13, 2015 - PRLog -- MedAware Systems, Inc. announced today that Anna Barón, PhD, Professor of Biostatistics & Informatics, University of Colorado School of Public Health, Anschutz Medical Campus is joining the company’s Scientific Advisory Board. Dr. Barón is a leading biostatistician with extensive research experience in cancer prevention and control.

Dr. Barón has received a number of prestigious awards including a Ford Foundation Minority Postdoctoral Fellowship, a Research Fellowship funded by National Cancer Institute International Affairs Program, Italian National Research Council, and Centro di Riferimento Oncologico, in Aviano (PN), Italy.  Visiting Scientist Fellowship Award, International Agency for Research on Cancer, Lyon France, and was inducted as a Faculty Member into the Alpha Upsilon Chapter of the Delta Omega Honorary Society in Public Health.

She is a member of American Statistical Association – Biometrics, Statistical Computing and Graphics; the International Biometric Society, the Caucus for Women in Statistics, and the Society for the Advancement of Chicanos and Native Americans in Science.

Dr. Barón received her PhD from University of Texas School of Public Health, specializing in Biometry. Her professional interests also include Epidemiology and Health Economics.
