VidEvals feeds the growing demand of YouTube users to have more options for rating and searching video content. The site allows users to more effectively locate music videos and gives users more options to provide in-depth evaluations of the music videos.

Search filters, almost non-existent on other Video hosting sites, give users the ability to search videos based on Musical Genre, Experience (New, Emerging, Established) and Solo/Group. With the inclusion of the Experience filter users can discover new music from unknown artists, something very difficult to do on Youtube.

Videos can be evaluated based on one of four general categories: Song, Vocals, Musicianship or All of the Above.  Each one of these categories contains 4 unique criteria that can be numerically graded by the users. The results represent a thorough examination of each video submitted and evaluated on VidEvals.

Glen Hoffman, Founder & CEO of VidEvals, speaks about how he came up with the idea for the website. “After watching Americas Got Talent, I went online to see how many video hosting sites gave users the ability to thoroughly critique artistic videos. The only evaluation tools that I could find were a “thumbs up/down” or a “happy/sad face”. Right then I knew that we could create a unique site that would give users a more active voice in expressing their opinions about the millions of music videos that they watch every day. From the Artist’s perspective, they will receive critical feedback that can used to better their artistic skills.”

In essence, VidEvals provides a new user interface and experience layered on top of Youtube videos. With respect to the artists’ earnings potential, they maintain their current revenue model with Youtube.

The Youtube “views” counter will recognize all the videos viewed on VidEvals. Thus the increased exposure on VidEvals will increase the artists earnings on Youtube.
