HeartSine Technologies Expands Sales Team to Meet Major Expansion Plans in Latin America

NEWTOWN, Pa. - March 23, 2015 - PRLog -- HeartSine® Technologies is pleased to announce plans to expand sales of its lifesaving automated external defibrillators (AEDs) in Latin America with the appointment of two Latin America Commercial Division Managers, Michelle Durán and Bruno Giraldo.

Durán and Giraldo, both based in Colombia, will be responsible for overseeing the growth and development of commercial business activities throughout Latin America, while creating and maintaining effective relationships with HeartSine’s Latin American Authorized Distributors.

Durán brings to HeartSine over five years of strong business experience from various industries and marketing agencies, with a major emphasis in international sales, logistics, and market research in commercial business environments.

“Sudden cardiac arrest claims millions of lives each year, and it is important that the 600 million people in Latin America are protected from the serious implications associated with it,” says Durán. “I am honored to be in a position that allows me to promote an invaluable device that will save so many lives.”

Giraldo holds over ten years of extensive product knowledge and sales experience in the medical device industry, including five years as an industrial engineer, in which he was responsible for the optimization of complex medical devices, such as pace makers and interventional cardiology catheters. In the last five years, Giraldo has shifted his focus to promoting and selling life-changing technology.

“My goal is to provide the public throughout the world with access to HeartSine’s vital technology,” says Giraldo. “With 84 percent of sudden cardiac arrest events taking place outside of the healthcare setting, it is critical to educate the public about sudden cardiac arrest and our easy-to-use lifesaving products.”

“HeartSine is excited to leverage the combined extensive medical device and sales experience of both Durán and Giraldo to expand our market share in Latin America,” says Brian Fawcett, Director of Latin America Sales at HeartSine Technologies. “With an increased presence in Latin America, we can grow our distribution network, while continuingly improving support to our existing valued distributors.”

About SCA

Sudden Cardiac Arrest is a condition in which the heart suddenly and unexpectedly stops beating, causing blood to stop flowing to the brain and other vital organs. SCA happens to people of all ages, including children, and is often fatal if not treated within minutes. CPR alone will not restart the heart, so the American Heart Association and ERC recommend CPR combined with early defibrillation (within three to five minutes) for the best outcome.

Sudden cardiac arrest can strike regardless of age, race or gender, affecting all ages from infants to seniors. It claims the lives of over seven million people a year around the world and is responsible for more deaths than breast cancer, lung cancer, and HIV/AIDS combined.
