CHARDON, Ohio - March 12, 2015 - PRLog -- Geauga County resident launches a new online resource for local youth under the age of 21. THOSE RADIO KIDS offers a radio platform designed to engage young people in local and global issues, develop self-confidence, and promote personal expression and self-esteem through music, classroom and community interviews, roundtable discussion projects, poetry, radio drama/theatre, documentaries, and more.

Patricia J. Rullo, radio host of the nationally syndicated program Speak Up and Stay Alive – explains, “Being on the radio gives young people a chance to share their thoughts and put themselves out there in a way that allows more people to ‘hear’ them. Today’s youth have something to say, but often lack the opportunity, encouragement, and skills to share it. Especially in today’s technology driven world – communication is becoming a lost art yet a vital skill for future success.”

The station’s model offers the benefits of live streaming combined with on demand listening options and does away with time-slots and specific air times as a way to attract and retain more listeners.  The audio content airs 24/7. All services are free to students and youth up to age 21, and free to schools, churches, libraries, and every other youth driven organization. The network is funded by community advertising with promotional packages that go beyond the Internet. Portions of the proceeds are used for the charitable project that sends handmade one-of-a kind pillowcases to troop members overseas, to homeless veteran shelters and women’s shelters.

Rullo concludes, “THOSE RADIO KIDS offers a forum and an audio community that has the space for individuals, schools, classrooms, church groups, and other youth organizations to come together, speak up, air their talent, thoughts, views, or even to create their own shows. Young people have a fresh perspective that when ‘heard’ can encourage them to connect and become involved with future community leadership roles. Today’s youth is the future Geauga County. THOSE RADIO KIDS provides a positive way to link the community and its youth through radio.”
