By: LIWLRA The theme for 2015’s LauraPalooza conference is Through Laura’s Eyes: Imagery, Illustrations, and Impressions from the Little House, reflecting the word pictures that Laura drew for Mary when she talked, the ones that Laura created on the printed page, and the way that Helen Sewell and Garth Williams brought them to life. It also reflects the conference’s new location in Brookings, Dakota, location and the university’s relationship with South Dakota artist (and distant relative of Laura) Harvey Dunn. “LauraPalooza 2015 is shaping up to be our best conference yet,” said Sarah Uthoff, president of the LIWLRA and co-chair of the event. Uthoff notes that with its unique mix of academic and fan offerings, LauraPalooza is a truly singular event—a uniqueness embodied by its cheeky name and welcoming atmosphere.
