(SAVANNAH, GA) – The first ever Louise Lauretti Hoops for Horizons 3 v 3 charity basketball tournament will be sponsored by the National Basketball Retired Players Association and The Eichholz Law Firm.  Founded in 1992 by NBA Legends Dave DeBusschere, Dave Bing, Archie Clark, Dave Cowens and Oscar Robertson, the National Basketball Retired Players Association (NBRPA) is a non-profit association comprised of former professional basketball players of the NBA, ABA, Harlem Globetrotters, and WNBA. Based in Savannah, The Eichholz Law Firm provides aggressive representation to people injured throughout Georgia.

Hosted by Savannah Country Day School, tournament clinics will be provided by Gatorball Academy and local legend Larry “Gator” Rivers. A former Harlem Globetrotter, “Gator” is also a famous Beach High School Alumnus.

The tournament will be held on Saturday, March 28th, 2015. The tournament has been named in honor of Horizons’ teacher Louise Lauretti who passed away in 2014 after an unflinching battle with melanoma.

The event is open to teams of boys and girls grades 5th through adults.  Teams of up to 5 players may register to play. The tournament will be 3 v 3 play with refereed games. Teams are guaranteed 3 games each and will play in age and affinity divisions. Registration fee includes a t-shirt for each player. Prizes will be awarded for each age/affinity division winner. Affinity divisions include: teachers/coaches, military, police, fire/emt, corporate and others. Youth teams will be divided by grade level. The day long tournament will feature clinics by college and former professional players and coaches.  Concession sales will be available and all proceeds from this fun, charity tournament benefit Horizons Savannah.  To register a team or make a donation, visit www.horizonsavannah.org or call 912-961-8854.
