Tickets for Annual Charity Ride to Duke City Now Available

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - March 12, 2015 - PRLog -- Thunderbird Harley-Davidson has announced its 2^nd annual fundraising ride to Duke City on March 21. The motorcycle ride will leave from Thunderbird Harley-Davidson at 12 p.m. and end at the Duke City Harley-Davidson location. Special guest, Adam Sandoval from Scootin’ America will also be in attendance. The event will raise money for Scootin’ America’s sponsored charity, the American Legion Legacy Scholarship and also to the local chapter of Blessings in a Backpack. Tickets are available at Thunderbird Harley-Davidson and Duke City Harley-Davidson and cost $20 per rider and $5 per passenger.

Half of the total proceeds raised at the ride will go to Scootin’ America’s sponsored charity, the American Legion Legacy Scholarship, which provides money to students who lost a parent during wartime. Sandoval created Scootin’ America when he decided to ride his motorcycle with his Chihuahua, Scooter, to every Harley-Davidson dealership in the lower 48 states to raise money for the families of fallen soldiers. The other half of the proceeds will go to a local charity, Blessings in a Backpack (benefiting McKinley Middle School). This nonprofit agency provides 50 elementary school children who are on the federal free and reduced price meal program with a backpack of food to take home for 38 weekends during the school year.

Around 12:45 p.m., Sandoval and his co-pilot, Scooter, will lead the ride upon arrival at Duke City where there will be live music from Vinyl Tap, free pizza for the riders from Papa Murphy’s, raffle prizes and more. A check will be presented to The American Legion Legacy Scholarship by the end of the event.
