By: incurvo Incurvo was founded in Barcelona in 2011, where initial work was R&D focused. Energy efficiency services were first implemented in smaller residential and commercial buildings as testing procedures. In 2013, Incurvo was invited to join a European funded R&D project, which focused on vastly reducing the energy demand of four public buildings; the University of Coventry, the school of Skelleftea in northern Sweden and the hospitals of Sabadell and Terrassa, based in Barcelona, Spain. After successfully testing large sustainability measures with high returns, Incurvo opened its London branch, launching its services to the private market in March 2015. “In 2009, 37% of UK emissions were produced from heating and powering buildings. With the UK’s Carbon Plan aimed at cutting greenhouse gas emissions by 80% by 2050, the time to start acting is now, but never at the expense of human comfort” said Kedar Nebhwani, CEO. Current existing energy rating systems, such as BREEAM or LEED, have proven to be successful in improving a building’s energy rating, however in order to achieve true sustainability in a building, it is necessary to account for a building’s entire lifecycle, especially the building’s daily operations. Buildings must be regarded as individual and unique, with specific development, location and operations requirements in order to evaluate the energy and automation needs. Incurvo’s methodology accomplishes this task by using a project management based approach comprising of five phases; investigation, reporting, optimisation, investment and financial analysis and execution and monitoring.
