Former UK Cabinet Minister to make keynote on M&A boom in the telecoms, media and tech sector

 
March 12, 2015 - PRLog -- March 12, 2015: Patricia Hewitt, the former UK Government Secretary of State for Trade and Industry, e-Commerce Minister and Board Director of BT Plc, will make a keynote speech on the boom in mergers and acquisitions in telecoms, media and technology at the opening of the annual TMT M&A Forum (http://www.tmtfinance.com/merger) in London on March 19.

Ms Hewitt, a Senior Advisor at global business advisory firm FTI Consulting, will look at the shifting trends within the sector at the industry leading international event, which gathers senior executives from telecom, media and technology companies, financial institutions and advisers.

The convergence of business models, the monetisation of digital platforms, and the easier availability of finance, are seen as key contributing factors towards the growth in mergers and acquisitions, which is expected to continue globally through 2015. Ms Hewitt will also assess the impact of regulation on future transactions and strategy and her expectations of who will be driving deals in the coming year.

TMT M&A Forum 2015, which is produced by news and events business TMT Finance, features a series of leadership panel discussions, keynote presentations and break out round table sessions assessing how transactions are driving change in the sector.
