BASINGSTOKE, U.K. - March 11, 2015 - PRLog -- Founder, Petra Moore and daughter, Mitch Lloyd have been sharing the news that restorations are coming along nicely. It will be paintbrushes at the ready for the three generations of the Petra family this Mothering Sunday with all hands on deck in preparation for the grand openingthis summer.

The passion for the dream project is evident as Mitch comments, ‘Our little shop, formerly a stable was the original home of our family business, started by mum in 1979 with nothing but a small workbench to craft her beautiful creations. Since the very beginning, mum has been a huge inspiration to me with her strong principles, high standards and sound business ethics, always respecting the demanding standards her customers expected. It’s this foundation that has proved to be the secret to our success. We outgrew the space in our tiny stable as our reputation spread and we doubled in size, but we’re bursting at the seams now with a team of 7 and it’s time to expand again.’

The business has flourished in the 35 years since it was founded by Petra, culminating in the prestigious award of The UK’s Most Loved Family Jewellers. Petra continues to support established and new designers with individuality and creative flair and have developed an enviable reputation for crafting beautiful bespoke jewellery, crucially not compromising on their quality standards.

Mitch officially joined 8 years ago as Director and Chief Designer and she couldn’t believe her luck when she discovered that ‘The Cottage’ was going to be available in January 2015. It was the perfect solution for a growing business that’s determined to be seen as Hampshire’s premier jewellers, with products and services to rival the best on the high street. The focus will be on top quality customer service and high end products all offered in a warm and friendly environment with that genuine ‘family’ feel and a contemporary edge.

Mitch continues, ‘It’s a huge amount of work, all of which we’ve project managed as a family, from damp problems to sourcing and selecting our gorgeous display cabinets. The Cottage, a beautifully quaint 100-year-old building on the Viables Craft Centre site will present extensive opportunities for the business and a much wider choice for our loyal customers with a new Creative Suite, a VIP Lounge and a workshop for on-site repairs. We’re only using local tradesmen for the refurbishment and it’s quite remarkable the difference it makes. Everyone is really emotionally committed and it shows in the superb standard of their work.’

Mitch’s daughter, six-year-old Heidi is a perfect encapsulation of family values with her palpable energy and excitement in the video updates of the renovation on Petra’s Facebook page. Heidi attends St. Johns School, a stone’s throw away from The Viables Craft Centre and has already reserved a desk space so she can do her homework with mum after school!

Petra Jewellery is keen to share their excitement, and in this spirit of that wonderful mother-daughter bond, is offering a jewellery goody bag worth £55 for every Mother’s Day purchase over £40 made from 10th - 14th March 2015.
