SMA Behavioral Healthcare Employee Earns Social Worker of the Year

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - March 24, 2015 - PRLog -- SMA Behavioral Healthcare (SMA) is pleased to announce that staff member Lamar “Sonny” Donaldson, LCSW, has been named Volusia/Flagler’s Social Worker of the Year.

“We couldn’t be more proud of Sonny,” said Ivan Cosimi, CEO of SMA. “He exemplifies the best of the profession’s values and achievements through his many accomplishments,” Cosimi added.

The award was presented to Sonny by the Volusia/Flagler Unit of NASW (National Association of Social Workers), Florida Chapter at its Annual Social Work Month Awards Banquet on Fri., March 20, 2015 at LPGA International, 1000 Champions Drive in Daytona Beach.

The award criteria includes making a demonstrable difference in such areas as advocacy for clients, social policy, social work practice, program development, administration, and research. The winner was required to demonstrate outstanding leadership, contribute to a positive image for the social work profession, and take risks to achieve outstanding results.

Public Citizen of the Year awards were also giving to Dixie Morgese, BA, CAP, ICADC and Kate Cumiskey, BA Special Ed.
