The recording was funded using popular music crowd funding website Pozible. The Royce Twins caught themselves some attention in Australia and subsequently around the world after appearing on The X Factor Australia and singing 'I won't give up' by Jason Mraz and Michael Natter. The YouTube video of that performance has now had more than 5.7 million views. "We are over the moon that 'Fly' has made it to the semi finals in this song writing contest," said Gabriel. "It's nice to get an acknowledgement of an original tune written by us." "I'm really happy 'Fly' has received this nomination. I remember when we were recording the song we thought we had something special but you never know until people get to hear it." said Michael. Other Australian artists to make it to the semi-finals of the International Songwriting Competition include: - Aaron Batcheldor (RadioArcadia) - Adam Eckersley, Jason Reeves, Danelle Leverett (Adam Eckersley Band) in the Country category - Cam Nacson (The Blackbird Collective) in the Folk Singer Songwriter category. The winners of The International Songwriting Competition are announced next month. The competition headquarters is in Nashville, USA.
