Utility Tables Complete the Picnic and Camp Site

Most picnic sites and camp sites include a picnic table and a charcoal grill (or maybe a campfire ring on the ground), and possibly a trash receptacle. That’s everything you need, right? All the site elements are in place. Well, maybe not yet.

CHEROKEE, Iowa - March 9, 2015 - PRLog -- One more site amenity is growing more and more popular every year – the Utility Table. This simple site component adds an enormous amount to convenience to the site for picnickers and campers. A utility table is a popular enhancement because it provides a work area so the nearby picnic table can be kept clean for other uses.

What are some things you’d like to keep off the picnic table? A short list could include: those small, portable gas or charcoal bbq grills; a Dutch oven; fish cleaning; cooking pots or skillets just removed from the fire; and other “prep” activities that otherwise would take up needed space on the picnic table.

Some people call them “serving tables” or “prep tables.”  We call ours “Utility Tables” because they are so useful in so many ways.  At Pilot Rock we offer these utility tables in three different basic designs.

Our most popular and simplest Utility Table is the ULT Series. It is a formed steel table top on a post.  The table top is 3/16” thick steel with the side and back edges formed up, and the front edge formed down. These flanges strengthen the top. The ULT Series is designed for a permanent installation with an embedded or surface/bolt down post.  This utility table top is available in three different sizes, from 18” x 30” wide up to 30” x 48” wide.  The simple, flat steel top surface lends itself to many jobs that would be better kept off the picnic table, and the top is easily cleaned. The ULT Series is designed for individual picnic and camp sites.  And they provide ADA compliant wheelchair access.

For larger group sites and shelter houses, we offer two larger utility tables – designs evolved from our picnic tables (table top only, no seats). More on those in the future.

To make your campgrounds and picnic sites more user friendly for your customers, you should consider how Pilot Rock Utility Tables … available in many different sizes, materials and colors … can enhance your facilities. All of our utility tables are wheelchair accessible. They might also reduce maintenance and replacement costs of your picnic tables already on site.
