KOLKATA, India - March 7, 2015 - PRLog -- These aspects include identifying the audience, understanding their choice, business goals, utility, website layout, images, color schemes and content.

Contrary to traditional website, designing a minisite seems to be much easier but that is not the case always. There are several more sensitive issues to handle while creating a minisite design. And to your utter surprise, you will discover that there are several iterations in terms of look. Now that prominently exhibits lack in creativity and as a result, those websites fail to woo the targeted customers. Just a little twist to the same layout does not go well with the audiences as they want a completely fresh, fascinating and functional website.

When it comes to designing minisite layouts, there is no dearth of possibility and that makes it more difficult to decide which the best practice is. So, let us turn our attention to different approaches of minisite creation and their advantages as well as downsides.

Company Branding

This approach features company branding in prominence. The best part of such approach is primary characteristic is prominently defined, which steps up the chance for effective marketing of primary property. As a result, the original website enjoys more traffic due to its prominent branding.

However, there are several drawbacks of this approach. The requirement to integrate different branding elements into the primary property makes it hard to create an appealing minisite design. It also creates confusion if there are two different navigation bars for parent website and minisite. A minisite more focused on branding visually competes with branding of the company and therefore, suffers from saturation.

Absence of Secondary Branding

This approach only considers primary branding and does not allow any minisite-related branding. The positive side is with such approach, a cleaner and more prominent design is possible. Due to prominent branding of the main company, the visitors will have no confusion over the proprietorship of minisite. However, such approach is seldom followed while developing a minisite. There is a chance that customers may not be ready to accept it as a minisite and therefore, marketing will be less effective for the product/service it promotes.

Minisite Branding

This approach prioritizes microsite’s branding to the branding of the primary company. Such approach increases effectiveness of brand marketing and also creates an exclusive and more unforgettable experience for the end-users. On the flipside, branding of the main company may escape attention of the consumers, leading to confusion regarding proprietorship of the minisite.

One-Page Promotion

In this approach, minisite branding could have a prominent feature and exhibit different forms. That enhances possibilities of branding as well as click-through rate. The concept also leaves a wider possibility of creativity. However, that solution is more effective for one-page presentation of minisite. If the minisite has more than one page, the idea will not be as effective as expected.
