RETC Hires Brian Heard as Director of Business Development

He will be responsible for acquiring new business and supervising clients’ portfolios throughout the year.

With more than 15 years of experience, Heard is a leader with proven ability to impact corporate performance which led to exceeding tax savings goals set by senior management each year. He most recently served as the property tax department manager for Lehigh Hanson, developing the property tax functions for North America, leading internal tax professionals and outside consultants, improving customer satisfaction scores through relationship building, and increasing efficiencies of compliance, appeal and audit functions. Additionally, Heard has worked for Raytheon Company and Grant Thornton LLP leading and directing efforts to minimize the property taxes paid by both the national defense contractor and his clients while at the public accounting firm.

He graduated from the University of North Texas in Denton and received a bachelor of business administration in accounting systems. He is a Certified Member (CMI) of the Institute for Professionals in Taxation (IPT) and actively supports IPT and other organizations. He currently resides in Frisco, Texas with his family.
