NEWBURYPORT, Mass. - March 6, 2015 - PRLog -- In an era known for individuals making interpersonal connections from a distance, KonectIDY saw a perfect opportunity to join neighboring High School students who also valued connecting through their deeds and giving back in the process!

KonectIDY.com, a cause-related marketing company with offices in Newbury, MA and Fairport, NY - heard the story of what Billerica Memorial High School Students were doing, and took action.

At the beginning of the 2014-2015 school year it was brought to the school's attention that their community and a family of the community needed support once again this year. We were soon introduced to Michele Morris.  Michele is a single mother of three and she was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer in early July of 2014. She is currently receiving high doses of chemotherapy followed by a double mastectomy, chemotherapy again, and then radiation.

During her treatment, she is unable to work and has to take care of her two and a half year old son who has Autism and a sensory processing disorder.

KonectIDY joined The Billerica Memorial High School student body and community to rally together in an effort to raise money for the Morris family and the Dana Farber Cancer Research Institute. These students are coming together and made a pledge to shut down their phones for 30 days. This is the second annual Billerica is Celling Out for a Cause campaign. With help from sponsors and supporters such as KonectIDY, they plan to raise as much money as possible to help the Morris Family on their road to recovery.

This incredible event was held from February 4th to March 6th, 2015. The school had 42 kids give up their cell phones for 30 days. These 42 students will be continuing the program by asking friends, families, and local businesses to help support the Morris family, and wear/share the message in their KonectIDY bracelet design "Our Fight"

As the students noted: "There is no greater feeling than being able to utilize ourselves to help fight cancer in some way where we hope that someday cancer will be a disease of the past."

Students came together to design their bracelet, and pledged to spread the bracelet's message and thus continue to raise funds for this cause. By wearing and sharing the message related to their KonectIDY "Our Fight" bracelet design, people will be showing their support and will help keep our efforts going to help Michelle win her battle!

Meaning of bracelet:

• Black band- Represents Understanding & Wisdom.
• Green and White beads- represents our town and high school colors, everybody in the community coming together
• Pink bead- represents Michele’s battle with breast cancer
• black bead- Combined with the Black Cord creates Strength.

$2 of every "Our Fight" bracelet sold goes to support this endeavor.
