Australian Law Student Sinks His Teeth Into Danish App Start-Up

PERTH, Australia - March 6, 2015 - PRLog -- Becoming part of the Danish app start-up company Cromian was not at all how University of Western Australia law student Cameron Rowick envisaged spending his free time while studying abroad in Copenhagen. Nonetheless, shortly after his arrival to Denmark he was lured into an industry very different to the one that he had been studying for the past 5 years.

Case law, statutes and legal precedent were swapped for recipes, shopping lists and Scandinavian design. The end product was FooDoo, an app with the purpose of making all your recipes mobile. Cameron doesn’t go so far as to label himself a foodie, but like many others he often struggles with the decision of what to cook for dinner. It is this problem that FooDoo solves so brilliantly by offering its users a simple and intuitive way to decide what to cook, prepare their ingredients and make the meal of their choice.

“As Copenhagen sometimes feels worlds away from home, it seemed only natural to get on board with something as far-fetched as a recipe app while I’m here!” Cameron confesses. He saw it as a great chance to combine his inherent interest in eating a good meal, with exploring a totally different field, and believe it or not, he says, “I’ve found that the skills from my law degree also come in handy here almost every day!”

FooDoo is available for free, with no in-app purchases, on both the App Store and Google Play Store. Any bloggers that are interested in having their recipes featured should get in touch with Cromian via their website (https://www.cromian.com).

About the app:

FooDoo is a free tool to make all your recipes mobile. We are unique in being completely mobile and completely free, without in-app purchases or paid-for features.

Users can keep recipes taken from all over the web, or magazines and books organised in one place. But unlike other apps, FooDoo does not ‘clip’ online recipes. This means users still get easy, instant access to recipes, but the creator of the recipe still receives full credit for their work, and traffic to their site.

Key features:

-Get meal ideas customised to your preferences

-Many ways to search, including a waste-reducing feature to use up ingredients

-Make and share shopping lists and meal plans

-Create a cookbook with your favourite recipes- you can add your own recipes with just a photo

-Go straight from desktop recipes to mobile shopping lists with partner sites

- Recipes from bloggers all over the world (Denmark, New Zealand, Canada, United Kingdom, India, Sweden and Australia)

About the company:

Cromian was founded in August 2013 by four entrepreneurial Danish students, with a focus on developing innovative and user-intuitive apps that will make life easier for all smartphone/tablet users.
