(Lake Worth, FL – March 4, 2015) The Cultural Council of Palm Beach County recently hosted the second It’s What You See Luncheon, featuring distinguished art collectors sharing the secrets behind their personal collections. Sponsored by JP Morgan Chase Foundation, the exclusive, catered luncheon was held on February 9 at the Cultural Council’s office at 601 Lake Avenue in Lake Worth.

"This luncheon was the perfect opportunity to hear from world renowned philanthropist, collector and curator Beth Rudin DeWoody about the extraordinary art work that she owns and loves,” said Rena Blades, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Cultural Council.

President of the Rudin Family Foundation and Executive Vice President of Rudin Management Company, DeWoody has curated shows in art galleries in New York, New Orleans, and Palm Beach. Some of her many affiliations include the Whitney Museum of American Art, New Yorkers for Children, Inc., New York Children’s Foundation, Creative Time, Find Your Voice, Inc., the New School University, Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM), Design Museum Holon Israel, Save A Child America Inc., and The Police Foundation. She serves on the Parsons Board of Governors of the New School University, is a Member of the Committee for the University Art Collection, and is on the Photography Steering Committee at the Norton Museum in West Palm Beach, Florida. In fact, the Norton is now presenting the exhibition The Triumph of Love: Beth DeWoody Collects, which is scheduled to run at the museum through early-May.

During her lively and revealing conversation with Rena Blades, DeWoody discussed her collecting philosophy, experiences with buying art and spoke about the critical importance of cultivating young and emerging artists and helping to shape their careers.

In addition to JP Morgan Chase Foundation, luncheon sponsors included Sallie and Bert Korman, Wilbur and Hilary Ross, Boynton Beach Flower Market and Christafaro’s Catering.
