50 Reasons to laugh at the Bible

Launched on February 24, 2015, Jakob Ståhle presented the first volume of Nutty Bible Quotes, a selection of 50 verses from a vast collection gathered for the past years during his journey from a devout Christian to a skeptic atheist.

The book is different as it 1) presents each verse on separate pages making it easy to read, 2) has all verses divided into categories making it easy to find a certain topic, 3) enhances the impact of each verse with disarming cartoon style illustrations inspired by the ancient biblical era to keep the imagery fresh and timeless.

The making of the book was funded by over 270 people during a very successful crowdfunding at Indiegogo in February 6, 2014. Now, a year later, the launch of the book will take this controversial title from Sweden, one of the most secular nations on the planet, and spread it across the world.

About the Author

Jakob is a professional magician and entertainer from Sweden who grew up as a Christian believer. In the age of 30 he started to question his religion and put effort to scrutinize the bible. Startled by all the violence, tyranny, magic, inconsistency, contradictions and distasteful advices from the god of the bible he began a journey with struggle of doubt and disbelieves.

10 years later he came out as a happy atheist. As a humanist Jakob believes good ethics is a virtue that we should discuss and improve instead of getting our moral guidelines from ancient scriptures. He wants to make this book a fun and easy way to discover the bible. A tool to reflect on and to discuss the most sold, but still relatively unknown, book - the bible.
