The Holistic Approach To Health Care

SYDNEY - March 4, 2015 - PRLog -- If you value health and are interested in alternative preventive health care, a healthy diet & lifestyle and the practice of herbal medicine, perhaps a career in Naturopathy is right up your alley? The dramatic changes in attitude and lifestyles towards health, has resulted in 75% of patients around the world lean towards a holistic approach to their health care according to the World Health Organization. Who wouldn’t want to be apart of this booming profession?

So what is exactly Naturopathy?

When hearing the word Naturopathy many people will associate only hippies, headbands, flowers and strong scents of incense! It does seek to use the natural healing powers of the body to cure itself, however it isn’t an alternative to modern medicine. There are six foundational principles that all Naturopaths aim to follow while treating patients. These include: The healing power of nature, First do no harm, Find and treat the cause whenever possible, not only the symptoms, Treat the whole person, Education and Prevention. If you want to quickly sum it up, it’s simply a distinct and complete system of health care.

What would studying Naturopathy involve and how long would it take for me to finish the Advanced Diploma?

Studying Naturopathy involves completing a variety of assessments online and a work placement of 200 hours in a Naturopathic clinic environment. An Advanced Diploma of Naturopathy takes 18 months to complete based on an average of 23 study hours/per week.
