Outlook of the Global Feed Market

Global compound feed output saw only slight growth as affected by avian influenza and drought climate
By: CCM International Ltd

GUANGZHOU, China - March 4, 2015 - PRLog -- In the recent decade, the global feed industry has seen a significant growth. During 2009-2013, the global output of compound feed showed a CAGR of 7.99%. However, in 2013, animal epidemics such as avian influenza and mad cow disease have greatly impacted the breeding industry in the world, thus, the global output of compound feed increased only slightly.

Behind the general growth during 2009-2013, it's noteworthy that the global output of compound feed increased only slightly in 2013. This is the joint effect of avian influenza incidents hitting the breeding industry and the drought climate causing decline in global corn output, especially in the major production base such as the US.

Corn is the most important raw material for compound feed production. The decline of corn output in 2012 had posed a negative impact on the supply of raw material for the feed production in 2013.

Globally, China is the largest producer as well as a large consumer of compound feed, taking the place of the US from 2011. In 2013, the output of compound feed in China was about 191 million tonnes, accounting for 19.83% of the world’s total. In 2013, the output of compound feed in China also saw a decrease as influenced by the avian influenza incidents.

CCM’s latest feed report Outlook of Global Feed Market (http://www.cnchemicals.com/Product/Report/2460/outlook-of...) aims to unfold the general development trend of compound feed in the world and major production countries and help to seize the investment opportunities in this sector.
