Margaret Truax to speak at Kenan Arts Council meeting

March 4, 2015 - PRLog -- The Kenan Arts Council will host a business lunch at 11:30am Tuesday, March 10 at the Kenan Center’s Taylor Theater Meeting Room, 433 Locust Street. Bring your own lunch; coffee, tea, and cold drinks will be available.

The 12:15 program will feature Margaret Truax, life-long Lockport resident and Historian. She will be speaking on the special history of the Kenan family.

Truax is the Lockport Historian; she serves on the Architectural and Preservation Committee for the City of Lockport, the Flight of Five Committee of the Lockport Heritage District Corporation, the Niagara County Records Committee, and has served two terms as a Niagara County Legislature. She is currently involved with the Niagara County Historical Society, The Dale Association, The YWCA of Niagara, the Kenan Center, and the Lockport Junior Service League.

The free program will be followed by dessert, coffee or tea, and conversation. The public is invited to join us as we learn more about some very special local history.
