EcoCars4Sale spread the word as one of the UK largest networks charges one-millionth electric car

Ecocars4sale introduce a “How to charge electric vehicles.” section to their website, and help spread the word about electric vehicle charging, meanwhile one of the UK’s largest electric car charging networks makes it’s one-millionth charge.

NORWICH, U.K. - March 3, 2015 - PRLog -- Chargemaster’s nationwide network of electric car charging points have been used one million times, providing drivers with approximately 9.5 million kWh of electricity since they were introduced in September 2012.

The British company says that this figure is enough for electric vehicles to drive more than 49 million miles. To put that into perspective, the company says that this is 200 times the distance between the Earth and the Moon.

The company has been ranked as one of the fastest growing technology companies in the Sunday Times ‘Hiscox Tech Track 100’ league table. This caps an achievement that saw the firm install its 10,000th public and commercial charging point in 2014, cementing its position as one of the country’s leading providers of electric vehicle charging infrastructure.

Analysis of Chargemaster’s Chargevision back-office system (which records all charging events), demonstrates the speed of progress in the take-up of electric vehicle charging.

From the time the first charger was installed in September 2012, it took to July 2014 for the company to reach 500,000 charges, but then just six months to reach the one-million mark. These figures provide further clarification that sales of electric vehicles is growing, and supports figures produced by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) which show that the number of plug-in cars registered in the UK quadrupled from 2013 to 2014.

David Martell, CEO of Chargemaster, told EcoCars4Sale: “Figures from our charging network echo the recent good news from the UK motor industry regarding the growth in electric vehicle sales. It is clear that the increasing diversity of plug-in cars available is appealing to consumers and that drivers are recognising the benefits that electric vehicles bring in both reducing their cost of motoring and their emissions.”

In January 2015 ecocars4sale.com introduced a website section dedicated to charging electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles. Company director Matthew Forkes said: “As the popularity and interest in electric vehicles grows, so does the demand for faster, better and more charging points across the UK. The UK already has one of the best electric vehicle (EV) charging networks in Europe and this is expanding fast. Furthermore the UK government has recently announced an additional £43 million investment into charging networks. We are constantly asked how and where to charge electric vehicles and this is why we setup a dedicated section at https://www.ecocars4sale.com that will guide our customer how and where to charge their electric and plug-in hybrid cars. ”

Electric and plug-in hybrid cars are gaining popularity because their green credentials that are incentivised by the government, and also because they can save people a lot of money on fuel costs. It is likely we see a lot more from these alternative vehicles this year.
