Calendar Saves The Planet One Day At A Time! ‘Nerdy-Cool’ Team Act As Side-kicks

Do you know 365 things that you can do to help the environment? Would it be easy to learn and apply new ideas one day at a time? The Nerdy-Cool team is banking on it with their page-a-day calendar '365 Things You Can Do To Help The Environment.'

ARVADA, Colo. - March 2, 2015 - PRLog -- How did this happen?  Lauren Brillante, mother of an environmental science major, Rachel Brillante, after listening for years to her daughter’s deep concern about what we are doing to our environment every day, started imagining something that might help people make some real shifts in their behavior by breaking it down and keeping it simple.  And so the ‘365 Things You Can Do To Help The Environment’ page-a-day calendar idea was born. The intention behind this calendar is to help people start building up their ability to respond to the needs of the environment and to make small adjustments to reduce their impact.

Then Lauren met two brothers, one a recent college graduate and illustrator, Matt Puerner, and one creative video game reviewer/creative project manager, John Puerner.  She thought “what if’ we did have the funding?  Clearly we have a team that could create it.”  Shortly after that Kickstarter was mentioned to her and she thought, ‘why not?’  So she created Nerdy-Cool Creations LLC and she invited the team to join her in creating the calendar and launched “365 Things You Can Do To Help The Environment’ on Kickstarter at: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1890705847/365-things-you-can-do-to-help-our-environment . (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1890705847/365-thing...)

There was a bit of a false start when they learned many things that they needed to know before the launch after the launch, but they allowed more time for their campaign than Kickstarter recommends so they decided to consider their real launch date Monday March 2, 2015.  Kickstarter has an all or nothing funding strategy, meaning if you don’t get fully funded to the amount you set as a target, you get nothing.  The team set their goal at $75,000 in order to meet printing, production, and promotion expenses and pay for all of the work that goes into creating the calendar.

What about all of that paper?  The team at Nerdy-Cool Creations are excited about putting this information into people’s hands and working with the people at Thomson-Shore who will be supporting them with green printing, distribution, and promotion.

Putting young, talented people to work, creating something that can help the environment, learning how to put their ideas out into the world, supporting an employee owned printing/production company, printing green, and inviting people to back this vision and make it a reality is a win-win-win-win-win opportunity.
