Northeastern University To Host Successful Transitions From Military To Civilian Careers Discussion

--Both Veterans and Employers Encouraged to Attend Free Event --

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - March 2, 2015 - PRLog -- Northeastern University - Charlotte will host a panel discussion about area companies tapping into the talent and experience of military veterans at their Uptown Campus on Tuesday, March 10 from 4:30-6pm.  The free event is open to active duty, reserve and retired service members looking for their next career move as well as employers seeking to hire veterans.

“Northeastern has long been committed to supporting veteran’s transition to civilian work,” said Dr. Cheryl Richards, CEO & Regional Dean of Northeastern University’s Charlotte Campus.  “Companies of all sizes are discovering that veterans, with their skills, training and work ethic, make great employees, so it’s an important topic for us facilitate locally.”

Moderated by NEU’s Managing Director of Veteran and Military Engagement, Dave Czesniuk, panelists include:

According to Dr. Richards, Northeastern's 79% graduation rate of Post-9/11 G.I. bill recipients is significantly higher than the national average of just 51%.  And, the University's track record of Career Services reflects an employment rate of 90% alumni in civilian professions, as compared to the national unemployment rate of 32% for veterans ages 18-24.
