INGWE Kick Start Protection For Leopards

BOURNEMOUTH, U.K. - March 1, 2015 - PRLog -- INGWE Kick Start Protection For Leopards

The INGWE Leopard Research team are taking up arms in the fight of wildlife conservation as they turn to online crowd funding to help spread the word about the endangerment of African leopards, by enabling donators to have their own camera set in the African bush. The campaign, titled “Your own camera in Africa”, has been launched with the goal of raising £8500, which will be used to expand their network of ‘camera traps’ out in the African bush. Camera Trapping is the method of capturing pictures of wildlife through the use of motion-sensor cameras and has been slowly creeping into the spotlight within the world of conservation, with INGWE claiming to be at the forefront of this scientific movement. They have noticed the necessity of using these devices as a result of a huge gap in the data surrounding leopard populations and behaviours.

As is the nature of Kickstarter, the research group will reward it’s supporters, or “backers”, with a series of rewards ranging from monthly digests of the camera trap images, the opportunity to fund their very own camera trap and even the chance to join the research team out in South Africa, depending on their pledge amount.

Will Fox, founder of INGWE and Chairman of PAW stated: “We really feel that Kickstarter has provided a window of opportunity for us to reach out to the masses and bring them into our world of conservation, despite whether they stay at home and enjoy Africa through their camera trap or fly over to join us at our research base.”.

“Your Own Camera In Africa” currently has 18 days left to fully raise its target amount before it will be taken down from Kickstarter’s live projects. This is an opportunity to be rewarded for contributing to the protection of South African wildlife and is a chance not to be missed.
