The public is encouraged to bring furniture, household goods, clothing, and electronics (no TVs, please) to the event. The gently-used donations will go into Goodwill’s 30 Retail & Donation Centers across Charlotte, Collier, Hendry, Glades, and Lee Counties. Documents may also be dropped off at the event for $6 per bag/box and will be recycled through Goodwill’s Secure Shred. “We worked with Chapel by the Sea last year, and it was really successful so we definitely wanted to partner again in 2015,” says Buffy Hagood, Commercial Donation Coordinator at Goodwill. “The donations we receive at these events support Goodwill’s programs and have a direct impact on the community.” Goodwill’s Mobile Job-Link will also be on-site for the event. The Mobile Job-Link offers employment assistance such as resume creation, and job placement. The organization also operates 15 brick-and-mortar Job-Link Centers throughout the five counties.
