WORJ-LP 103.5 FM to Launch Online Station With Benefit Dinner Gala & Gospel Concert in Suffolk

SUFFOLK, Va. - Feb. 27, 2015 - PRLog -- Dr. Princella Johnson, President and General Manager of WORJ-LP 103.5 FM, announced the launch party and benefit Gospel concert for the station’s online division is Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. at The Shepherd Center, 2500 E. Washington Street in Suffolk. Featured guest performer Erica Lane is a national recording artist, songwriter, actress and former Miss Houston.

Pre-event activities include a Charter Sponsor Reception from 5:30-6:30 p.m. which will offer ground floor underwriting rates for charter sponsors. Local Christian music artists also appearing including Dr. Michael Simon & The Voices of Adoration and Psalmist Juanita Hart. “The station is launching its online platform first in order to prepare the community for the terrestrial station which is in development. Funds raised during the event will help defray costs of the studio build out and necessary equipment purchases,” said Johnson. “We have the secondary goal of identifying charter sponsors and underwriters who support our goal of taking the Gospel of Jesus Christ around the world as we are already airing in 110 foreign countries and over 300 American cities.”

The station will be known as Worship Jesus Radio™ but will also be referred to Worship HIM-FM™, and will air classic and current “All Christian Hits Music” from several genres to include: Gospel, CCM, Christian Rock, Contemporary Praise and Worship, Southern Gospel and Quartets. Featured artists such as Fred Hammond, Chris Tomlin, MercyMe, Marvin Sapp and many traditional as well as contemporary groups will fill the station’s airwaves. Listeners will also hear entire chapters of the dramatized New Living Translation Bible™ daily. Listeners can download the Worship Jesus Radio app in the iTunes, Google Play, and BlackBerry World stores.

Future plans for the station will include phasing in other programming items like live Christian talk, preaching/teaching, a world and local audio news channel, community information, missions updates, children’s shows, health and financial educational shows, song countdowns, and indie Christian artist music shows.

Erica Lane is a highly acclaimed recording artist, vocalist, and songwriter from Texas.  In 2014, two of her originals were placed on the soundtracks of two theatrically released movies, Left Behind starring Nicolas Cage and Veil Of Tears documentary narrated by Natalie Grant.  At least a dozen of Lane's original songs have been featured in television and films.
