Interprise Design Announces New CEO and Key Leadership Roles

DALLAS - Feb. 25, 2015 - PRLog -- Interprise Design announced today that it has filled four key leadership roles, including CEO and President Carey Austin. In addition, Rob Mahurin, a veteran of the firm was promoted to Vice President and Creative Director; Liz Trocchio Smith, real estate executive and performance coach was appointed to the Board of Directors and Dan Lee was named Vice President of Architecture and Business Development after Interprise’s recent acquisition of his firm, Lee Design Group. The new leadership team for the commercial architecture and interior design firm will build on an iconic reputation established under the direction of Katie Berg who will remain Chairman of the Board, but will not have day-to-day responsibilities.

Interprise is the planner of record for more than 38 million square feet of office buildings in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, serving developers, owners, leasing agents and managers of commercial property. Recently named Interior Design Magazine’s Number 32 Rising Giant, Interprise will build on its strong 32-year foundation and continue to focus on designing spaces that blend new ideas with classic elements that create and support client branding and image.

CEO Carey Austin, an expert in strategy development and creating competitive advantage, has served on the Board of Directors at Interprise for several years. During her career she has successfully piloted seven start-up organizations and worked with four turn-around situations. She also is the founding Managing Member of Cross Board Advisors, a Texas registered advisory firm specializing in foreign direct investment including EB5. Within the community, Austin currently serves on the Dallas Regional Chamber’s Economic Development and Corporate Recruitment Committee, is the Legislative Chair for Northwood Republican Women, volunteers as a tutor for underprivileged children through her church, and serves as a

Hearing Officer for FINRA. She earned her Bachelor degree from Lake Erie College in Ohio and Universite de Grenoble, France, and studied for a MS in Accounting.

Newly appointed Vice President and Creative Director Robert Mahurin has more than 27 years of experience in the design industry. Prior to his promotion he served Interprise as Design Director, where he honed his expertise in contemporary as well as classically detailed design projects, hotels, restaurants, retail spaces, office environments and numerous capital improvement projects.  Other relevant career experience includes both national and international work including Award-winning Design for the Tutwiler Hotel in Downtown Birmingham AL.  Mahurin is a member of the International Interior Design Association, Texas Board of Architectural Examiners and he holds a NCIDQ Certificate. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Product and Industrial Design from the University of Oklahoma as well as a Master of Science from the College of Architecture at Mississippi State University.

With a successful and visible career in commercial real estate, Liz Trocchio Smith has been a top executive of many well-respected companies such as Cushman & Wakefield, Hines and Blacor. Her accomplishments have led to numerous awards including Bisnow Power Women - 2014, Dallas Business Journal’s Most Influental Women - 2009, Who’s Who in the Southwest - 2002, Stars to Watch - 2000, Top 40 Under 40 Stars of Tomorrow – 1998, Most Influential Women in Tarrant County - 1998, Outstanding Achievement Award – Commercial Real Estate Women – 1996, and appointments to both internal and external Boards of Directors. Throughout her career she has coached and mentored high potential professionals who subsequently grew in their careers and established themselves as players in the industry, along with proven leaders continuing to help them grow in their positions of authority and power. She is an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) through the International Coach Federation, the leading global organization for coaches; a Certified Executive Business Coach through the Coach Training Alliance and a licensed Texas real estate broker. Liz holds a Bachelors of Business Studies from Dallas Baptist University and is currently enrolled at Southern Methodist University’s Cox School of Business Executive MBA Program, graduating in May of 2016.

Dan Lee joined Interprise as Vice President of Architecture and Business Development after the company’s recent acquisition of his namesake design firm, Lee Design Group, PLLC. The nationally recognized architect and interior designer has more than 25 years of experience in the design industry, including numerous award winning projects from coast to coast. Lee launched Lee Design Group in 2010, and with his team he provided architecture, interior design, medical planning, and design consulting services for acute care, ambulatory care, medical office buildings, specialty hospitals and senior living environments. Additional career experience includes time at Baylor Healthcare System, Halff Associates and HDR. Lee also is a founding member of the American Academy of Healthcare Interior Designers where he served as the national president for five years. As an Architect and Interior Designer, he holds a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Illinois. He is an active member of AIA, ASID, IIDA, TAID and TSA, and is board certified with NCARB, NCIDQ, AAHID, and EDAC.

Among Interprise’s recent engagements are a crisp lobby refresh for Galleria Tower II office building as well as an innovative and engaging new corporate office space for Fischer & Company.
