Catawba River Baroque Featured at Gaudium Musicae

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Feb. 25, 2015 - PRLog -- A concert of chamber music from the High Baroque period will be held Sunday, March 22, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. in St. Ann Catholic Church, 3635 Park Road, Charlotte. Catawba River Baroque aims to replicate the sounds audiences heard in the period, using only voice and instruments available at that time.

The ensemble features specialist virtuosos Emily Chatham, violin; Kelly Roudabush, flute; Murray Somerville, harpsichord; and soprano Margaret Carpenter, with guest artist Holly Mauer on viol da gamba.

The concert is part of St. Ann’s Gaudium Musicae concert series, now in its fifth season. A reception with the artists will follow the concert. Tickets are $8 for students, $12 for adults, and $30 for families. Children 12 and under are admitted free. Advance tickets may be purchased online at www.StAnnCharlotte.org or at the parish office. Remaining tickets will be sold at the door.

The Gaudium Musicae series is a community service of St. Ann’s Parish to support exceptional, primarily local musicians in an intimate and acoustically excellent venue.
