Jahna Sebastian Attends the Screen Nation Film and Television Awards

NEW YORK - Feb. 23, 2015 - PRLog -- UK Singer/Songwriter and Producer Jahna Sebastian attended the Screen Nation Film and Television Awards on February 15th. The awards ceremony was hosted by BBC London News Arts correspondent Brenda Emmanus and held at the Hilton Metropole Hotel. The Screen Nation Film and Television Awards celebrates the year's most successful black British nominees from the television and film industry, from both behind and in front of the camera. The glitzy ceremony celebrated a decade of outstanding achievements on the British screen by many of the nation's best-loved film & TV stars.

Jahna Sebastian graced the red carpet in a exquisite black fitted gown designed and styled Anar LONDON. Her hair and makeup was provided by Jhonelle Marcano, who also styles her lovely daughter's hair.

Acknowledged by the industry as 'the' media event for diverse talent and which has come to be known as the 'black Bafta's', Screen Nation Awards celebrates, rewards and promotes products and professionals of African heritage working in the UK and global film, TV and digital media industries.

International star Idris Elba was in attendance and picked up the award for Favorite International Film for his thriller No Good Deeds. David Oyelowo, who played Martin Luther King Jr in the drama Selma, won best Male Performance in Film, while a public vote named Selma the favorite international movie. A further public vote named Selma directorDuvernay favorite female screen personality.

Period drama Belle won Gugu Mbatha-Raw best female performance in film while director Amma Asante collected the award for achievement in film production. Belle, directed by award winning Ghanaian/British director, Amma Asante, won the award for Best British Period Drama at the Screen Nation Awards.

Musical reggae legend John McLean performed as well as R&B 80s legend Loose Ends. Sarah-Jane Crawford, Xtra Factor host was in attendance and won the award for Favorite Female TV Star.

Award presenters included actress Nathalie Emmanuel from Game of Thrones, X Factor's Sarah Jane Crawford, singer and broadcaster Jamelia, ITVs Michelle Matherson and Asif Zubairy and many more.

After the awards show was over Ms. Sebastian attended the VIP after party where Capital XTRA's DJ Abrantee spinned for the night.

Ms. Sebastian has been hard at work filming music videos, performing at shows and taking interviews.

She has an astonishing track record of hundreds of songs including recording entire album by Oxxxymiron “Vechniy Jid” which had been rated Best Rap Album of 2011 in Russia and nominated for Russian Urban Music Awards.

Earlier this summer she performed several shows with multi platinum UK band Kasabian, one of them was on MTV on Soundchain with Zane Lowe, on the main stage Pyramid at Glastonbury Festival, which has been broadcast on BBC and millions tuned in for, another being the historic show at Victoria Park in Leicester called "Summer Solstice" with 50,000 people attending.  The show was filmed and screened at cinemas and will be released on DVD soon. She also performed with Kasabian at the Alan Carr show.  The sultry songstress also had the pleasure of headlining the Baltic Summer Festival. She is currently working on her upcoming album and collaborating with other artist on their projects.
