SAN DIEGO - Feb. 23, 2015 - PRLog -- San Diego’s Voyagers Toastmasters Announces Club Winner for the 2015 Speech Contests

Feb 23, 2015 – San Diego, CA

San Diego Voyagers Toastmasters, located in the Old Town area of San Diego, announces the winners of the 2015 International Speech and Table Topics contests.  Long time club member Mark Imhoff took the honors for both the International Speech Contest and the Table Topics contest. He will be a busy fellow at the upcoming contest on March 6, 2015.

The combined Area 12 and Area 21 contest will be held at the CalTrans building at 4050 Taylor Street, Building 2, San Diego, CA 92110. Free parking is available.

Everyone at this special meeting witnessed some of the club’s best speakers competing in Table Topics and Public Speaking. The Table Topics participants were Mike Ruthenberg, Natalie Meehan, Mark Imhoff, and Mark Shapiro. They were given the opportunity to talk to their favorite teachers and convey how inspirational their teachers were in their lives.

We then entered the prepared speech contest where Diana Bergman spoke on “Light from the Darkness”, Alan Hoffmanner spoke on “Manage Your Paradoxes to Better Manage your Life”, and Mark Imhoff spoke on “A Pilot’s Pilot”. All three speeches conveyed a personal timbre to each of the speakers.

John Shannon acted as Master of Ceremony / Toastmaster and the newly retired Donna Gillen was Chief Judge for this special contest meeting. The four speech Judges were Nancy Jensen, Mark Epstein, Michael Schaffer and Jerry Marino.

“My thanks to all contestants and other participants for sharing with the other members of the club”, said club President John Wissenberg. “These contests have always been an excellent way for speakers to experience new ways to challenge themselves and the audience to see members strive to be their best.”
